Human-Centered Design for Coaches: October 2022

Registration is now open for One Stone’s Human-Centered Design for Coaches program. This hybrid course is designed to equip educators, community leaders, and designers interested in tackling complex human-centered challenges with the tools and mindsets needed to maximize the success of their teams.

Human-centered design is a creative problem solving process that is rooted in empathy. It begins with a deep understanding of the people you are designing for and ends with an innovative solution that meets their unique needs. The process empowers teams to uncover new ideas that allow them to disrupt for good and create lasting change. For educators, the human-centered design process enables students to build a deep understanding of complex, interdisciplinary, real-world issues through student-led projects that fosters the durable skills they need to thrive in today’s world. For community leaders and designers, the human-centered design process provides a framework for building empathy and understanding, generating innovative ideas, and creating unique community-driven solutions to everyday problems.

During this four-week session, participants will engage in a hybrid workshop series — a combination of live, virtual, interactive activities and online learning modules (incorporating readings, videos, and engaging activities) — designed to build your skills as a human-centered design coach. As a cohort, we will engage in relevant, reflective discussions, learn by doing, and share stories of insight and engagement as we unpack the tools needed to become guides in our learners’ human-centered design journey. This program will utilize a blended approach, combining asynchronous, on-line learning with weekly virtual meetings.

Human-Centered Design for Coaches Certification: Level I Human-Centered Design for Coaches certificates will be awarded to participants who engage in each of the live, virtual discussions and complete all of the program’s on-line learning modules.

Cost: The Human-Centered Design for Coaches Program cost $600 per participant per program. Costs will be discounted by 10% for each additional participant from the same organization for the same session. Please email Chad Carlson, Director of Research and Design, to discuss financial assistance and/or alternate cost plans.

Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
